Valley View Cottage (Sleeps 4-6)
With the River Tweed on its doorstep, this traditional south facing stone property has stunning views up and down the Tweed valley. Set in a quiet location within the small village of Walkerburn just outside Innerleithen, this cottage makes an ideal getaway to recharge the batteries.
Newly restored and redecorated the accommodation sleeps 4/6 people and comprises of: two double bedrooms, lounge, kitchen & hallway with a family bathroom downstairs and a second toilet/ shower room upstairs. Both the lounge and master bedroom also have working open fires. The lounge has a comfortable leather suite including an armchair, 2 seater sofa and 3 seater sofa bed with a 32” flat screen TV, sky free view and DVD player. Upstairs the master bedroom is quiet and comfortably furnished including a chaise lounge within the window space to further enjoy the views of the facing hill and valley. Along with the open fire, the master bedroom also has a 26” flat screen TV, sky free view TV and DVD player. The second bedroom to the rear of the cottage is also a double, but even quieter than the master bedroom with a TV/DVD player also. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and electric cooker. The downstairs bathroom comprises both a bath and a separate shower cubicle, with the upstairs bathroom has a shower cubicle, basin and toilet. There is also a secret garden, [totally enclosed] which receives the sunlight from mid-morning until early evening, great for sunbathing or BBQ’s. In addition there are two secure lock-up’s for bikes and sports equipment For more active holidays the cottage is only 1.5 miles from the downhill car park for mountain bikers. There are also great walks in and around the local area and close to the Southern Upland Way with salmon and trout fishing available on the river Tweed [permits for trout fishing can be bought in advance]. Walkerburn itself has a local store & post office, rugby, bowling and social club where visitors are welcome plus two hotels; The George and the Windle Straw, serving meals throughout the day and evening.
